SAFETY POLICY

Effective Date: March 7, 2026

Iris Dating, operated by Ideal Match, Inc. ("IRIS," "we," or "us"), is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all members. This Safety Policy describes our safety-related practices, member obligations, and available resources. This policy is provided in compliance with the Colorado Online Dating Services Safety Act, C.R.S. § 6-1-731.5, and applies to all members of the IRIS platform.

1. Prohibited Content and Conduct

IRIS strictly prohibits content or conduct that threatens public or personal safety, or that violates the rights or dignity of others. The following are prohibited on the platform:

Safety Threats

  • Any conduct, communication, or content that threatens the physical safety of another person or the public.

  • Harassment, intimidation, stalking, or threatening behavior directed at any member or third party.

  • Sharing another person’s personal information without their consent (doxxing).

Sexual Misconduct

  • Non-consensual sexual conduct or solicitation thereof.

  • Sending unsolicited sexual content, images, or messages.

  • Any conduct constituting sexual harassment under applicable law.

Child Safety

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) of any kind.

  • Grooming, exploitation, or any sexual interaction with or targeting of minors.

  • Content that sexualizes or exploits individuals under the age of 18.

Fraud and Deception

  • Creating fake or misleading profiles.

  • Impersonating another person or entity.

  • Soliciting money, gifts, or financial information under false pretenses.

  • Operating bots, automated accounts, or synthetic profiles.

Illegal Activity

  • Any content or conduct that violates applicable local, state, or federal law.

  • Facilitating or promoting human trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation.

  • Distribution of controlled substances or illegal materials.

Other Prohibited Conduct

  • Offensive, abusive, threatening, or degrading content targeting any individual or group.

  • Pornographic, violent, or exploitative materials.

  • Content that infringes intellectual property rights.

2. Criminal Background Checks

IRIS does not routinely conduct criminal background checks on members as part of the registration or onboarding process. IRIS makes no representations or warranties as to the criminal history, identity, intentions, or conduct of any member.

However, IRIS reserves the right—and members expressly authorize IRIS—to conduct criminal background checks or other screenings (including sex offender registry searches) at any time using publicly available records. IRIS may use third-party consumer reporting agencies for this purpose, and by accepting these Terms, members authorize IRIS to obtain and use a consumer report to determine their eligibility.

Members who have been convicted of or pled nolo contendere to a sexual offense or crime of violence are prohibited from using the IRIS platform and will be permanently banned upon discovery. IRIS encourages members to exercise independent judgment and reasonable caution when interacting with other users online and in person.

3. Identity Verification and Age Confirmation

IRIS requires all members to be at least 18 years of age. By registering, members represent and warrant that they meet this age requirement.

IRIS employs selfie verification technology to promote user authenticity. As part of this process, members may be required to submit a selfie to verify that their profile photograph is an accurate representation of themselves. This verification is designed to reduce the presence of fake or misleading profiles.

Notwithstanding selfie verification, IRIS cannot guarantee the identity, age, or intentions of any member. IRIS does not conduct government-issued ID verification as a standard practice but reserves the right to request such verification in connection with safety investigations or as required by applicable law.

4. Account Suspension and Permanent Bans

IRIS monitors the platform for violations of this Safety Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy. Upon receipt of a report or identification of a potential violation, IRIS may take one or more of the following actions at its sole discretion:

Temporary Suspension

A member’s account may be temporarily suspended pending investigation of reported prohibited conduct or content. During suspension, the member will not be able to access the platform.

Permanent Ban

A member will be permanently banned from the platform in cases involving:

  • Verified violations of the child safety or sexual misconduct provisions of this policy;

  • Confirmed fraudulent or deceptive conduct, including fake profiles or financial fraud;

  • Conduct that poses a significant risk to the safety of other members or the public;

  • Repeated or egregious violations of this Safety Policy or the Acceptable Use Policy;

  • Criminal convictions for sexual offenses or crimes of violence discovered after registration; or

  • Any other violation that IRIS, in its sole discretion, deems sufficiently serious.

IRIS reserves the right to terminate accounts for any violation of the Terms of Use, including for violations not listed above, with or without prior notice.

5. Appeals Process

Members who have been suspended or permanently banned from the IRIS platform may submit an appeal by contacting IRIS at support@irisdating.com within 30 days of receiving notice of the adverse action.

Appeals must include:

  • The member’s registered email address and account information;

  • A description of the basis for the appeal and any relevant supporting information; and

  • Any evidence the member believes is relevant to the review.

IRIS will review the appeal and respond within a reasonable timeframe. IRIS’s decision on appeal is final. IRIS is not obligated to reinstate any account. Appeals submitted after the 30-day window may not be considered.

6. Notification Regarding Reported Members

In certain circumstances, IRIS may—at its sole discretion—notify members who have had recent contact with another member who is the subject of a safety-related report. IRIS will consider providing such notification when the nature of the reported conduct suggests that other members who interacted with the reported member may face a risk to their safety.

The types of conduct that may trigger contact notifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Reports of sexual assault or sexual misconduct;

  • Reports of threats or violent behavior;

  • Reports of fraudulent conduct or impersonation that may have affected other members; and

  • Any other conduct that IRIS determines poses a material safety risk to users who have had contact with the reported member.

IRIS is not obligated to provide notification in all cases and will evaluate each situation individually. Notifications, where made, may be general in nature and will not necessarily identify the specific reported member or the details of the report.

7. Reporting Prohibited Content or Conduct

IRIS encourages members to report suspected violations of this Safety Policy promptly. Reports can be submitted through the in-app reporting tools available on member profiles and messages, or by contacting IRIS at support@irisdating.com.

When submitting a report, members should provide:

  • A description of the conduct or content being reported;

  • The username or profile of the member being reported, if known; and

  • Any screenshots or other evidence that may assist in the investigation.

IRIS will review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include account investigation, suspension, permanent ban, or referral to law enforcement.

Warning Against False Reports: Submitting false, misleading, or bad-faith reports is a violation of this Safety Policy and the IRIS Terms of Use. Members who submit false reports—including reports motivated by personal disputes, retaliation, or other illegitimate purposes—may have their accounts suspended or permanently banned. IRIS reserves the right to take further action against members who abuse the reporting system.

8. Sexual Consent

IRIS is committed to fostering a community built on mutual respect and consent. Engaging in sexual conduct with another person without their consent is a violation of this Safety Policy, a violation of the IRIS Terms of Use, and a violation of the law.

Non-consensual sexual conduct may result in civil liability, criminal prosecution, or both, under applicable state and federal law. IRIS will cooperate with law enforcement investigations involving alleged non-consensual sexual conduct by members of the platform, including by providing information as required by applicable law.

Members who experience or witness non-consensual sexual conduct are encouraged to contact local law enforcement and to report the incident to IRIS at support@irisdating.com. Members found to have engaged in non-consensual sexual conduct will be permanently banned from the platform.

9. Platform Safety Measures

IRIS employs a range of measures designed to promote safe online and in-person dating experiences for its members, including:

  • Selfie Verification: All members are subject to selfie verification technology to confirm that their profile photograph accurately represents them, reducing the presence of fake or impersonated accounts.

  • AI-Assisted Content Moderation: IRIS uses automated tools to detect and flag content that may violate this Safety Policy or the Acceptable Use Policy.

  • Human Review: Flagged content and member reports are reviewed by IRIS team members to determine appropriate action.

  • Block and Report Tools: Members may block or report other members at any time through the in-app tools available on user profiles and in message threads.

  • Law Enforcement Cooperation: IRIS cooperates with law enforcement authorities and court orders as required by law. In cases involving confirmed Child Sexual Abuse Material, IRIS reports to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant authorities.

  • Prohibited User Screening: IRIS excludes from the platform individuals who have been convicted of or pled nolo contendere to a sexual offense or crime of violence, and permanently bans such users upon discovery.

  • Safety Education: IRIS encourages members to review safety tips and exercise caution when communicating with other users online and when deciding to meet in person.

While IRIS employs these measures, no safety system is infallible. IRIS cannot guarantee the safety, identity, or intentions of any member and encourages all members to use common sense and take reasonable precautions.
